Sea of Longing continues the exploration of displacement, memory and the vastness of the sea. Created with encaustic and mixed media, this work depicts a fragile vessel struggling against storm-driven waves — a symbol of both endurance and vulnerability. Commissioned as a companion to the earlier work Adrift, this painting carries forward the themes of the Landscapes of Hiraeth series, where ocean crossings stand as metaphors for migration, loss, and the eternal search for belonging.
