Museum Aquisition

In December 2025, the Encaustic Art Institute acquired my painting “Efflorescence” for its museum’s Permanent Collection. The work now resides alongside a distinguished body of contemporary encaustic art.

Artist Talk - March 20, 2026 1PM

In this artist talk at the Centerville Public Library , I will be discussing the inspiration and process behind my ongoing Landscapes of Hiraeth series, alongside other recent works. Drawing on themes of memory, migration, and ancestral ties to place, I explore how molten beeswax, damar resin, pigments, and mixed media allow me to layer light, texture, and translucency—revealing the tension between permanence and fragility within my work.

CERF Grant Award

I received a $1,000 Get Ready Grant from CERF+ (Craft Emergency Relief Fund). CERF+ supports artists through both Emergency Relief Grants—helping artists recover after disasters—and Get Ready Grants, which help artists take proactive steps to safeguard their studios.

The funds from this grant will be used to purchase a lockable, fireproof cabinet for the safe storage of flammable and potentially hazardous materials used in my encaustic practice, including torches, oil paints, linseed oil, shellac, and spray paint.

As part of this grant, I am also committed to sharing studio safety education with other encaustic artists, helping promote safer, more prepared studio environments across our community.
